All meetings are to be held in the Supervisors Office, 600 Gunder Rd NE, Elkader, Iowa, unless otherwise stated. The board meets on Monday from 9 AM to 4 PM. Non-scheduled time is spent in workshops or available for public comment limited to 10 minutes per individual. Each meeting agenda includes approval of previous meeting(s) minutes.

Board of Supervisors Minutes - May 20, 2013

Meeting of the Board of Supervisors at their office, County Office Building, 600 Gunder Rd, Elkader, IA
Present:  Larry Gibbs, Ron McCartney, Gary Bowden

Motion by Bowden, seconded by Gibbs, to approve the claims as presented.  Ayes:  Gibbs, Bowden, McCartney

A public hearing was conducted regarding an amendment to the county’s zoning ordinance “Monona Airport Land Use and Height Overlay”.  Dan Canton, Monona City Administrator, and Clyde Thompson, Monona Airport Manager, were present to discuss the airport operation. The economic impact of the Monona Airport is estimated at $30,100.  There were no objections heard or written presented at the hearing.  Motion by Gibbs, seconded by Bowden, to approve the first reading of the amendment to the county’s zoning ordinance “Monona Airport Land Use and Height Overlay”.  Ayes:  Gibbs, Bowden, McCartney

Motion by Bowden, seconded by Gibbs, to authorize the Chairman to sign the contract and contractor performance bond of Kuhlman Construction for project 2013 R-1”rock resurfacing”.  Ayes:  Gibbs, Bowden, McCartney

Motion by Gibbs, seconded by Bowden, to authorize the Chairman to sign the contract with Vogel Traffic Services, Orange City, IA, for pavement marking in the amount of $66,612.50.  Ayes:  Gibbs, Bowden, McCartney

Motion by Bowden, seconded by Gibbs, to approve the plans and specifications for the Farmersburg Secondary Road Shop building and the release to bidders.  Ayes:  Gibbs, Bowden, McCartney
